Tesla Model Y Wheel and Tire Specifications Guide

The Tesla Model Y is the electric vehicle maker’s best-selling car, and in 2023, it became the world’s best-selling vehicle by volume, dethroning ubiquitous cars like the Toyota Corolla and the Toyota Rav4. This immediately makes the Model Y a historic electric vehicle. It effectively proved that EVs could not only stand toe-to-toe with the best combustion-powered cars in terms of performance — they can stand toe-to-toe in terms of sales as well.

The Model Y is currently unique in the way that it is the only Tesla that’s produced in three different countries across four different facilities. As of writing, the Model Y is produced at the Fremont Factory and Giga Texas in the United States, Giga Shanghai in China, and Giga Berlin in Germany.

The following is a quick wheel and tire guide for the Model Y crossover. We tried our best to cover every pertinent detail for every wheel that Tesla’s released so far for the vehicle. Do take note that this article will be updated over time as Tesla releases more wheels and tires for the best-selling all-electric crossover.

Tesla Model Y Performance

The Tesla Model Y Performance comes standard with 21” Überturbine Wheels that are designed to support the vehicle during intensive driving sessions. Unlike the Model 3 Performance, whose front and rear wheels are the same size, the Model Y Performance features a staggered setup. It’s also difficult to deny the fact that the Überturbine Wheels look pretty amazing on their own.

Tesla Model Y Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) / Tesla Model Y Long Range Dual Motor All Wheel Drive (AWD)

The Tesla Model Y RWD and Model Y AWD are offered with two wheel options. By default, the all-electric crossover is equipped with 19” Gemini Wheels, which are pretty identical to the Giga Shanghai-made Model 3 Performance’s Power Sports Wheels and are optimized for efficiency. Customers could also opt for 20” Induction Wheels instead, which provide the Model Y with a more aggressive and sleeker look.

Model Y owners with existing 19" Gemini wheels can opt for the 20" Uberturbine performance look by upgrading to an Uberturbine aero wheel cover set or Cybertruck aero wheel covers.
