I can see now!!!

I installed some of these “Ultra-Bright LED Lights” in my 3 and I can now see everything. The 2 in the trunk require a bit more work than those under the doors. NOTE: there is a notch on the sides of each light which line up with indentations in the door and the retainer ring in the trunk. Life is much easier when you line up the notch with the indentations.

In regards to the trunk lights, watch the video first as you’ll need to remove some of the plastic and cloth trim along with the black plastic retainer on the back of each light. A bit difficult, just take your time and pay attention when you pry this retainer off, it will fly someplace in the trunk.

I haven’t installed the 2 foot-well lights yet because I haven’t been able to curl up enough to fit into the very small space to access the lights. I’ll get it sooner or later probably when I install the metal accelerator/brake pedal covers. I haven’t used the small extension cords supplied but i may for the foot-wells. You’ll be happy with the purchase.

Very bright

Very nice, bright, easy install. FYI “ambient lighting” now too bright in footwell for my taste (it is partially lit footwell). Trunk MUCH BETTER! Included SPUDGER really helpful for install.

Wow these are bright!

Love the LEDs. I struggled installing 4 of the lights (2x trunk, driver footwell and drive side back door) and had to use another pry tool in addition to the supplied tool. The pigtail exntensions also came in handy for the footwell installs!

I can see inside my trunk now!

Of all the places to cut corners, I think having such weak LEDs in the trunk was a poor choice that Tesla made. Replacing those was one of the higher priorities for my Model 3, and this kit from Teslarati did the job. Two things to look out for, though:

1) For the trunk lights, there is a rectangular backing that is pretty frustrating to reattach. It's not entirely required as the LEDs stay pretty secure in the molding, but it's something I keep going back to because of my own OCD tendencies.

2) When you are working on the front door splash lights, as soon as you disconnect the LED, the window will react. Don't be alarmed. Just connect the new LED and go about your business. Apparently removal of the LED will cause the window to go back up so don't close the door until you have put the new LED back in.
